The short version: HomeTeam is a free platform for managing youth rec-league teams. No ads, no paywalls on the basics.

What does HomeTeam do?

HomeTeam gives rec-league coaches and parents one place for rosters, schedules, scores, per-player stats, photos, and team announcements. Coaches can also browse gear deals in the HomeTeam marketplace (powered by eBay) and let Claude write a quick game recap they can email to parents.

Who is it for?

Coaches running a single team, parents coordinating a carpool, and small rec leagues up through a couple dozen teams. If you are running a multi-district enterprise league, tools like SportsEngine or LeagueApps are probably a better fit today.

How much does it cost?

Free. We do not charge per player, per team, or per month. Revenue comes from affiliate links in the marketplace and, down the road, optional end-of-season photo books and merchandise.

Do my kids need accounts?

No. Only parents and coaches sign up. Kids are listed as Players on a team roster, tied to a Family group. We do not collect login credentials or tracking data on children.

What about photos of my kid?

Before any photo of a child can be uploaded, the account holder for that Family must grant explicit consent for that specific child. Consent can be revoked anytime, which removes the photos from HomeTeam. We do not sell photos, do not use them to train AI, and do not share them with advertisers.

Is HomeTeam COPPA / FERPA compliant?

We collect the minimum data needed to manage a youth team and we never sell or share it. Parental consent gates every photo upload of a minor. For leagues operated by a school or district, we will sign a SDPC / DPA on request; email support@hometeamkit.com.

Can I import my roster from a spreadsheet?

Not yet. CSV roster import is on the near-term roadmap. In the meantime, rosters can be added one player at a time from the team page.

Can I export my team's data?

Yes. Any coach or parent can request a full export of the records they have access to. Email support@hometeamkit.com and we will send a zip of your roster, schedule, stats, and photo URLs.

How do I delete my account or my kid's data?

Email support@hometeamkit.com. We honor deletion requests within 30 days. Financial records may be retained for up to seven years where required by law, but they will be anonymized.

What browsers / devices are supported?

Any modern browser. The site is built mobile-first and works on phones, tablets, and desktops. A native app is on the roadmap.

Something is broken. What do I do?

Email support@hometeamkit.com with a screenshot and a description of what you were trying to do. We aim to respond within one business day.
